Lutie’s
A Michelin Guide–recognized destination, Lutie’s is named in honor of the estate matriarch, Nannie Lewette “Lutie” Perry. The restaurant embodies the gracious spirit of its namesake and the convivial energy of the property’s Jazz Age legacy, welcoming guests into a contemporary garden retreat nestled within the lush estate grounds.
Conceived as a natural extension of the gardens rather than a showpiece, the restaurant’s architecture—led by designer Holly Arthur—prioritizes subtlety and serenity. The exterior was intentionally designed to recede into the landscape, eventually disappearing beneath a cloak of ivy. Lutie’s becomes a backdrop, allowing the estate’s historic gardens and vibrant events to take center stage.
Inside, designer Ken Fulk infused the space with a refined, nostalgic charm. A sophisticated floral motif carries through the interiors, balanced by a classic, country club–inspired striped awning shading the patio. The latticework ceiling, adorned with hanging greenery, deepens the sense of immersion in the garden. One of the more quietly poetic design moments reveals itself above the scalloped banquette, where the estate’s original stone perimeter wall peeks through—a subtle, grounding reminder of the history that surrounds.
